Turner Knocks in 4, Big Part of Cougars Victory
The Cougars improved to 3-0 yesterday with a win against the
Fighting Irish, but without the new guy, Earl Turner, the Cougars
would’ve lost and been tied for the division lead.
As the Cougars best rookie and highest rated prospect, Earl Turner
carries around a big bat and a threatening swing. Don’t make a
mistake against him, or he will set the record for farthest hit home
run (again). This is a kid who once hit a home run 175 feet over
the centerfield fence. That stat right there tells you the
capabilities of this player. Although he didn’t get any of those
yesterday, he helped bring home the 37th win in Cougars history
(37-6). He brought in four runners from third with hard hit
grounders that made it into left field. He hustled to first and
constantly picked up RBI singles. He tied for the highest average
on the team .667, and tied in second in on base percentage (.800).
The rookie has a shot for rookie of the year, and could have a big
impact for Colehamer this season.
